about nyrelle

Hi, my name is Nyrelle Bade.  I am a qualified and registered arts therapist and I love my job!  I love working with people of all ages and all abilities to get out of their heads, listen and connect to their bodies, and increase wellbeing through art making and creativity.  I have completed postgraduate studies in arts therapies, Somatic Experiencing®, and Therapeutic Touch.

I have extensive experience working with a broad range of client groups within public, private and corporate sectors.  I have  a background in the arts, communication, and administration.  I specialise in working with people who have complex needs, disability, trauma and attachment, or people who experience mental health issues.

I have memberships with the following associations ACA Australian Counselling Association, and ANZACATA Australian Creative Arts Therapies Association.  I have a working with Children Check and a valid Police check.

I don’t know when I first became interested in the arts or when I first discovered the therapeutic value of using the arts in therapy, but I have always had a great interest in the “expressive” arts.  I am an active and committed Board member of the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA), the peak association for Creative Arts Therapies in our region.  I currently hold the position of Treasurer on the Board of ANZACATA.

In 2009 I became involved with the The Art2Healing Project and held the position of Vice Chair from 2009-2014. The Art2Healing Project is a not-for-profit creative arts therapy organisation primarily offering programs based in Asia that are dedicated to providing therapeutic support and education to women and children who have been adversely affected by sex trafficking.

I am person-centred and I really listen to your needs and what you want to change in your life.  We will work together to create change from the inside out, claiming back and discovering parts of yourself that have been disowned or neglected.  I promise there will be tears, there will be laughter, and there will be change!
